Default jetBlue Oct 20 interviews

Well, the Dec 15 guys have their own, so I figured why not us? I've been sitting at 19/21 for some time now, and I called Sterling to ask if there was something I could do to help speed the process along. I was told that they were waiting for one more form from the FAA, but otherwise I was complete. How is everybody else doing? Anybody actually got an offer/class date yet?

I've been sitting at 16 of 23 for what seems to be eons, although they told me on the phone that they had sent the results on to JB. What exactly that means I don't know...
Had a jump seater from our group on a flight last week and he hasn't heard anything either. Learning that from him made me feel a whole bunch better.
I sincerely hope that, as Royce's last update said, we'll start getting classes in Feb. I sure hope so because I have a house in NH that I'd like to make an offer on before somebody else does!

Guys, take a deep breath and let it out. since about 2012 the hiring of pilots here progresses at a glacial pace. Some waited 9-14 months in the pool. FWIW, things are moving along faster these days. Keep yer panties on till the prom and you'll be fine.

Yeah. You'd better. After the first year pay you won't qualify for anything

This thread was certainly not intended to be a gripe fest, simply a line of communication among our interview class. I only got a few phone numbers before I left HQ, and I wanted to try to keep in touch.

While I can certainly empathize with your wait, at JetBlue no news is good news.

When nobody's hiring you can take as long as you want. However when other airlines are giving guys class dates in the same amount of time, you might need to reexamine the process....oh wait, they already have reexamined and decided to go with ab initio.

My guess is they make people wait so long to get a better gauge on whether they really want to be at JB. I think they think it is a good thing that, while in the pool, a candidate interviews and is hired somewhere else.

Not defending it, but that's my take.

I thought that at first, but I tend to believe there is a more practical reason. I think it has to do with the background check, the depth they go to that other airlines don't.
If the legacies were to call every single person in the JB pool tomorrow and offer a Jan 10th class date, JB would have a very small pool.
I don't think a large corporation would do that just for a loyalty check...unless they expect and plan for a certain attrition number out of the pool...which they very well might.
Again, in a cool hiring environment you can have people sit around and wait for your call. JBs entire existence has been in a time where no legacy has hired the way they are now. JB hasn't faced this before.
I think there are many out there who would stay if they were in a class. It's harder to quit then not show up at all.
