As for lanyards, I have nothing against ALPA lanyards, I hate all lanyards equally. Why are they all designed for people who are 6'4"? At 5'9" I don't particularly enjoy having my ID swing and bounce around my crotchal region. I much prefer clipping it to my pocket. Now, with that being said, you pushy bastards have brow beaten me into wearing the damn thing because I was sick of collecting them in my bag. For anybody distressed by the lack of readily available lanyards, might I suggest simply standing in line at the JFK T5 Starbucks, sans lanyard? You will most assuredly confronted with the question "I see you're not wearing a lanyard, I've got some in my bag, do you need one?"
I kid. Contract above all.

That is the first I've heard of this. Not accusing you of anything, just curious where you "heard" this....straight from his mouth, an ALPA communication, from the guy sitting next to you, a JS, a bich board, urban myth?
I know years and years ago the Sched Comm (project pilots looking for managements approval/promotion) stated that a min day in the optimizer screwed up the commutability of the pairings. That was back when some of the pairings were commutable. Is it possible that myth is still floating around?
BTW there are ways to contractually allow for flexibility to allow both commutability and a min day. One way would be a "cut out". If a pairing started after a certain time and ended before a certain time (i.e 3 day to SDQ) then it might be subject to a different pay scheme. For example if the min day was 5.5 hours then a 3 day "Super Commute" pairing could have a flat and/or min rate of 13 or 14 hours if it complied with the start/end time provisions.

Maybe I'm more leg, and you're more torso. But I don't want to assume your biometrics any more than I'd want to assume your gender. If you need me I'll be in a safe space.

I look at a lot of four day trips on my schedule that might have three days averaging 6.5hrs of credit and then one day of 3hr credit. Make that short day into 5.5hr calendar day and now you have yourself a 25hr four day, instead of 22.5hr. Take those extra 3-ish hrs over three trips, and you're talking working an entire two days less over the month.
