I can't recommend JetBlue at this time

I just wanted to thank you guys for posting your opinions. I have applied to JB for over 2 years and I just recently got the invite to interview. But now I'm only about a year away from flowing to American. I go back and forth between the two and have been leaning more towards AA. With this thread, it seems my choice is becoming clearer.

Thanks to all of you for the candid posts. I've been interested in JetBlue for a while now and attended the Vets in Blue conference last month. This definitely paints a different picture than that which was represented there. Though somewhat depressing, I appreciate the insight. Hoping for better things in the future, and best of luck to you all.

I am glad that this thread got started as well. Hopefully it potentially saved you from wasting an opportunity at working for a true Major airline. I have been here a year and I am actively updating my apps. In my eyes, people that defend this place are simply misinformed about how things work at the other airlines. Most of my friends work at the other Majors and we trade stories every time we meet. Everything I hear from them makes me want to leave ASAP.

Remember, these guys have said as much...They'd prefer you don't come here because it helps our bargaining position.

One year from the flow or JetBlue isn't even a question, unless maybe you live in a blue base and don't mind waiting to *maybe* get compensation parity for a few years. Jump in your raft grab a candy bar and go with the flow.

I had a captain get handed a screw driver because the mechanic was too lazy to change the CAT 3 placard with PAX on board. The captain picked it up and did it. I would have just walked off the flightdeck until everything was signed off and done. Honestly the most embarrassing thing I have ever seen a pilot do on the job in front of passengers. How does that look to people to see the captain with a screw driver working on something in the cockpit?
