As the previous post said, no and no. But, there aren't very many E190 slots between now and September. Chances are very good that you'll be on the A320. You'll get to choose between JFK and BOS, and in the very next quarterly system bid you can transfer bases if you don't immediately get what you want. You won't hold FLL or MCO quickly on the A320, but LGB has been going junior in the last couple of bids. JFK and BOS always have vacancies.

You need two flights on any airline that are scheduled to arrive before your showtime or one JetBlue flight that's scheduled to arrive an hour before your showtime and shows enough open seats for you to get on. If you don't make it they can ask you to keep trying to get there or release you paid (and debit your PTO bank) or unpaid. That's from the FOM/FSM, I'm not sure how it works in reality.

Thx for the info. Much appreciated!

What are JetBlue's travel bennies like? As in, who gets them? Spouse, parents, and children only? Or are there "enrolled friends" and/or buddy passes?

Spouse or travel companion if unmarried, parents, children. Buddy passes (4 per quarter I believe) after your first full quarter of employment. Dependents can travel on ZEDs after six months (except VX is three months I think).

The main drawback to the travel benefits is JetBlue's "Caring" value in action: demanding that you glove up, work upstream and impede deplaning passengers while cleaning the cabin after your flight. They say it's to make for quicker turns, but if they wanted quicker turns they'd have cleaners work the cabin. It's really about control, but I won't get too far out on this tangent.

Make sure you get all your booster shots prior to nonrev travel, at least until BlueJet comes to their senses. Currently there's no fee for travel, but they are hinting at starting to charge for the benefit of cleaning their planes for them.

Thanks for the info ATR. Good to know we get a travel companion for those of us that are too afraid to commit, or smart enough not to. These benefits are active in the beginning of training I'd assume, or once you watch "the video"?

As for the cleaning, pretty sure that topic has been beat to death in the Blue Glove thread so I won't even stir up that pot. I do understand the point you're trying to get across though.

Honestly, unless you live in one of the bases, the travel benefits are almost worthless. If you live in the midwest somewhere and want to go out West, you will have to go east first to JFK/BOS... then west. Good luck trying to line up your connection/schedule, as we will most likely only have 1 flight a day there, sometimes only on certain days, it will most likley be a redeye on the way back or involve a 5-8 hour airport appreciation sit before your connection. Want to sit in Mint? That'll be $75.

I buy tickets and give my money to DL, SWA, etc. when we travel, as you can't get anywhere on JB without giving up 2 days of travelling because of our crap flight schedules.

I live in JFK. Currently cargo with zero travel benefits or ZED agreements. Only benefit we get is we keep miles on commercial flights booked for company travel, but even those are fairly useless now a'days. Something's better than nothing I guess...

Yes there is one. Yes, it is tracked on how often you miss commute.

Nope, it is all luck of the draw and how senior you end up being in your class.

On the flip side of the coin if you live in base (besides the cleaning part) our travel benefits can be pretty great. My family and friends use them a lot with very little hassle. We don't overbook our flights which helps non-revs out significantly. I'll never forget being number 64 and 65 on the non rev list for 8 EWR-LAS flights while I was at XJT. Never made it and had to go back to BOS. Stuff like that rarely happens here.
