Kalitta Air (K4) Information
#1831
The stories you hear after you are hired about Kalitta bending over backwards during family or personal emergencies are almost unbelievable. It really makes you happy to work for a company that will look out for you and help you when the **** hits the fan and you need the support.
Like anywhere there is going to be the usual BS from time to time but when needed they go the extra mile. When Irma was heading to FL they took 20+ guys who live there off the line and flew them home from wherever. I also know of one CA who's mother was about to pass and when he landed to get the news halfway around the world they already had his flights booked home and he got to spend the last few hours with her.
I have had family issues and they were 110% helpful and accomodating. That says a lot in my books.

I've made it to the second phase last August and haven't heard anything. However I have updated my resume directly to the CPs office and the response was good. Now I just need to keep updating and hopefully the call would come soon. Currently a B787 Capt flying in Asia.

I would but in 7 months no one has responded to my update emails from HR. I hope they are getting them but no one has confirmed their receipt.

What he means is that we now have three types of recommendations, and when a person submits your info they are classified according to one of these types, in descending order of how well the person knows you, has flown with you, etc. They also go to the CP office now. So you might want to have the persons who submitted your recs do so again within the constraints of the new system.

It took me about 6 weeks to hear from HR. I was invited to the July interview but couldn't make it. I was told to call and let them know when I could interview. Been leaving messages, hoping to interview in September but no response so far.
