I've sat seat support. Most people perform worse in the sim as they are inside their head too much, that's expected. It's being a horrible pilot out on the line that gets peoples attention, followed by screwing up in recurrent. At that point they could care less if you have a GED or a PhD.

Was just announced that the 26 seat locked FOs who bid for the the 777 are getting moved to help cover the remaining 34 spots they are looking to fill. Will be interesting to see how many of those come off the 747 vs 767

My money is on "what is a 767 newhire". But both planes seem to have extra.

With that said, I didn't choose to bid off the 767 because I hate the flying or anything (have been enjoying it, especially the trips that put me home on during day layovers). Just thought it was a worthwhile opportunity to gain some international experience I currently don't have.

You mean the 60 spots they are trying to fill? Still need 34 more fo's as I understood the letter... Or did I read that wrong?

I read it as there are 34 of 60 FO slots that need to be filled. 26 now are being filled internally so 8 more need to be hired to have al 60 positions staffed. I have been wrong before though

No mention of awarding another captain bid for the 777. We’ve got some super junior (seniority) captains on it that are required to be off the captain seat before too long as well. Going to be interesting to see how this shakes out.

Looks like 20 captains so far on the 777. And probably a few more awaiting ground school. I don't think they need to upgrade. The company has been very vocal about needing FO. Plus I think the street captains have another 10 months before they'll move.

They have 270 days in that seat. Anybody know how many of those guys were hired? Don’t think it’s that big of a number.....
