That would be fortunate......new cites that NONE of the other US ACMI carriers have served in the past. Not so on the domestic side of the house. ALL of the current K4 destinations were previously served by one of the other ACMI carriers currently under the DHL Master Plan. That equals on a one to one basis a decrease in flying for somebody. Again one carrier's good fortune becomes another's demise.

All I am saying is K4's new 777s didn't come from Atlas/Southern or any other DHL carrier, they are new from factory (4/5) and simply got awarded to us. Clearly you know that, but want to make it much more dramatic that it really is. There is always shifting of routes. Do you know for a fact that DHL isn't simply increasing lift in the short term? I'm not sure how you could definitively know that every 777 brought online at DHL is an airframe dropping off somewhere else.
I can see 747s coming offline both at Kalitta and other carriers as more 777s come online at some point, but we all know the 400 is aging and has noise issues. Eventually...

Alright, I guess the glass is half empty?

Ok half full....dont shoot the messenger. Just what I see looking out the window (and the departure sheet in CVG) alot of flights causing one carriers fortunate expansion coming at the expense of another.....I know, I know typical whipsawing. But what goes around comes around...then the furloughs start. Good luck. All I see is new aircraft, new routes, and unlimited hiring on the horizon...nothing could change that right?

Exactly—anybody that tries to pin this on DHL solely is ignoring the true facts here. Its unfortunate, but this isn't the same whipsaw that DHL/ASTAR went through 10-20 years ago

Bringing Americans home from Wuhan makes a lot of sense. Having a trickle of people who may or may not be symptomatic transiting two or three countries to get home (Thailand, Cambodia, etc.) that may or may not be spreading a disease isn't an acceptable condition. Collecting most of them into a few controlled locations makes sense from a public health perspective. Also it's the right thing to do for American citizens. The Chinese were and are bungling things. This was one of those rare cases where pragmatism and ethics align.
My two cents.
