I would be there if I had the scratch to go. But the wife needs new wheels and that will eat my yearly bonus and tax refund.

A car is clearly more important than a high paying career move

Don't be an ass. His wife needs a car every day, most likely so they can meet their financial obligations. The job fair is a "chance" to meet someone who "might" offer him a "chance" to interview for a job he "might" be offered. I've been there and fully understand. And while we are now paid OK we are not remotely highly paid for this industry. On the previous page you hinted that you probably wouldn't get hired under the current minimums. How about you just relax and don't judge.

Yeah, you are right, my wife has no need to drive herself to work while my car is parked two hours away in an airport parking lot while I am on the road... let's make her walk the three kids to daycare so I can up my chances of getting a call from a company

Sorry for being an ass. My friend got the interview without going to a job fair. 2 hour commute to the airport is a bit hard to coordinate, and a bit too far for uber. When we had one car, I was able to coordinate with the wife. I keep forgetting that not everyone lives within 45 minutes of an airport.

No worries. Good sign that he got the interview sans job fair. I did have a friend email HR with a letter of rec for me. He forwarded me the reply from HE that said they pulled my app and stapled it to his LOR and sent it to the CP office for review.

It takes class to admit you were wrong, especially on an anonymous web board. Well done. See you in Connie world.
