(ALPA took 4.8k of that)
If you are a 3 year captain and got to pay ALPA $4800, you should be thankful for the contract they negotiated. I hope to pay ALPA 10,000 some year.

It's not any better on the Capt side. Most everything going out at straight time, with mega senior guys getting it.

I completely cleared my Feb board in under 4 hours on 1/11. Too bad it wasn't June. It's been a scramble to get anything, even at straight time.

I typically bid vacation in Feb to avoid this BS, but wifey wanted me to bid July this year. Never again.

And without ALPA you’d be making 60k less with zero employer retirement contribution. Seems like a good deal to me.

Whoa easy guys.. I never said I wanted to pay ALPA zero. Believe me I am quite thankful things are working out as well as they are - but I do have to endure things that many many people senior to me are not willing to in order to make that happen too.

What is interesting to me about ALPA dues and really why I included it in my post was that I never really cared about paying dues in my 10 years at the regionals. It wasn't on my radar, even though it was the same percentage. I guess now this year I really started noticing that a very significant amount of money is going their way. Just food for thought more than anything.

You have to endure things those senior to you don't? Did someone force you to bid the left seat of the 88? Because when I was in year 3, I, like thousands of other pilots, was into my second year of furlough. By all means, though, tell us more about the indignities that you have to endure.

Welcome to the club of pilots that provide alpa the bulk of operating revenue.

You didnt actually think the regional dues were paying the overhead did you?

I dont have many many senior to me....but like yourself i somehow also find myself doing things others arent interested in doing either to 'make that happen'...lol!
