That being said, RSV living is base isn't so bad here. 12 days off, expect your blocks to be either 6-on/4-off or 5/3. You'll fly most days, and there will likely be premium pay on offer on your days off if you want to really make some money. Commuting to RSV or in general here has been....well, let's just say unpleasant. It's a lot better than it was a few months ago. The chief pilot has QOL as his top priority and they appear to be listening to him. Starting to see lines that have actual 3 and 4 day pairings, some even commutable on one end or the other. It's not great yet, but it's trending the right direction. I'm a pretty cynical guy, and I've been satisfied with the progress.

Reserve for a while. If you actually live in base, it won’t be the worst. Expect early check-ins and late check outs. You’ll hear lots of complaints from the ones that have to commute to that. But as a DEC, expect reserve for a while. On reserve, they can and will send you to other bases sometimes to cover flying where needed. I don’t hear the 220 pilots complain as much about that as the Ejet pilots do

But if you live in base, for the most part, you’ll just get called out a few days a month to fly a day trip
Charter is slowing down for the summer, it will pick back up in the fall. If you’re a DEC, expect reserve for a while, just because the senior FOs will keep upgrading on top of you. Maybe a year. Some people never sit reserve for a single day, some are on it for a year. It all depends
