I just got hired by American Eagle as a station agent last week. (I needed the cash to finish my ratings!) Anyways, I go get my drug testing and all that stuff at DFW next week... During the interview they told me about the space available benefits and such. Do all American Eagle employees get free flights on American Eagle and big American? What about international flights? What are the limitations if any? Do you get to pick a travel buddy like Southwest? My mom works for southwest so I'm familiar with how that system is setup, any similarities? Any info would be great!

yes you, your travel companion, your parents, and eventually others you can give D3 passes to can travel on both eagle and american. you have to be there 6 months before american connection privileges kick in for your others.

each flight you are charged a small fee.

once they give you a jetnet account, the nonrev policies and procedures are all listed in there.

Here's a few points to add--your "travel companion" can be your spouse or anyone you designate, and that person has unlimited passes with you at the D2 priority, which is a pretty good deal at I think roughly $11 or so for each domestic coach leg (1st class is usually double the coach rate), but international flights will be more (say up to $120 each way for a European first class segment). It's still a great privilege...

You then get 24 one way segments that can be used among parents (who are at the cheaper D2 rate like yourself) and anyone you want to sign up--this is the D3, or buddy pass priority. These aren't such a great deal since they are dead last in boarding priority and you are charged roughly $40-50 each way for their domestic tickets (but at least 1st class is the same price). International D3 is pretty expensive, too.

When you get into Jetnet you can read all about the rules. AMR doesn't have the best flying bennies, but that aren't bad...
