Default Do you keep headsets on during cruise?

During cruise or during long flights do you keep headset on or take it off and use the hand mic?

It depends on a few things. Mostly how quiet the flight deck is in cruise. If I can speak at a conversational level then I like to take it off. If my FO is using an ANR headset and prefers to leave it on then I'll leave mine on (truth be told I should be using an ANR headset myself). Also I believe when flying internationally it's best to use a headset due to accent barriers.

737. Off at FL180. No way I’m wearing a head vise for 5 hours. (And earplugs from pushback to shutdown.)

A320 Spirit, I bring a Bose QC25 with UFlyMike. 90% of captains want to go off headset at FL180. The few that I can get to try the Bose want to steal the headset from me and stay on headset the rest of the pairing.

Keep it on.
My 850 and foam earplugs are a fine combo.
