Jumpseater Bag Fees on Spirit & Frontier???
#71
if you’re in uniform, nobody is gonna care how many bags you have. One nice thing about commuting on F9 is, due to our fees for carryon bags, overhead bin space is usually plentiful, even on full flights, and, 9 times out of 10, you’ll wind up in an exit row by yourself.

As long as you don’t buy a ticket like this one flight attendant did.
she comes down the jetbridge and complains she had to purchase a bag for $65.
when I go up to the gate to find out it turns out she didn’t list for jump seat on id90. she purchased a fare online so she’s a paying renevue passenger so I couldn’t do anything about the bag fee.
as long as you list jumpseat you get a free carry on and a free checked bag to your listing.

We’ve (F9) had recent memos state that non revs and OAL jumpseaters are supposed to be charged. In fact, even when we’re working the FA’s are supposed to charge us for snacks.
Yet another Poke the Bear example of what management thinks of us.
It’s embarrassing and a constant reminder of what a sleeze bag group of leaders we have.

Spirit’s catering is outsourced as well but working crews/DH get whatever they want from the carts. You guys are just enjoying some of that Frontier love from Bill

I recently took my family on a flight with Frontier. We all had standby fares through myidtravel. I would have listed for Jumpseat, but I waited until night before and couldn't figure out how to list using ID90 website. When we showed up for flight (I was in uniform) I had to pay full price for checked bags. I don't remember how much, but remember thinking this is almost as much as buying regular ticket

I had a similar experience. Bought Zed fares on Frontier and ticket agent wanted $65 for each checked bag. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they said the same. I mentioned that their website says Zed fares get two free checked bags and they asked to see where, so I showed them this site on my phone: Frontier Airlines, Inc. | Find flight listing option at FlyZED | ID Travel | Airline employees (third party website, not Frontier’s) and they checked the bags for free.
