Even without a warranty or taking it in, I've been able to do some minor refurb work at home with some basic tools and 65 cents worth of hardware from Ace.
My buddy has been through two already. Both times the frame snapped while attempting to replace the wheels.

Had the same thing with my LW aft e about 2.5 years.

Went to change the wheels and the axle bolts were so corroded it cracked the housing/frame.

Strongbags has a much better design for changing individual parts in my opinion.

If and when my LW bag has had enough abuse (no signs of slowing down after 5 years of commuting btw) then I will very likely be looking at a B&R bag.
My only issue with the B&R bag is the J hook is a joke. If you're not a J-Hook kind of person then yes, it's a great quality bag.

I was a j hooker, but now I prefer the stack. I love my br bag. Light. Fits a ton.

While we’re on the subject has anyone purchased the new upgraded LW roller? I believe they call it the “carbon”?

If you go on their website, you will see the weight difference is only around 1/2 pound between the regular and carbon fiber.

I still have my Strong bag. I bought it used...about 8 years old at the time. I re-skinned it and installed new wheels. I'm on year 4 now and it is holding strong. I also like having a bag that not everyone has. Literally, EVERYONE has the same LW roller. I always here about this part of that part going out, bending or breaking.

Mine might not have 35 pockets, but it is durable and I intend it to last me for quit some time going forward.

Haven’t seen the Costco bag on the store or their website in a while. Which is a shame, it was good.

In the same boat, after commuting in RJs for 5 years my LW suitcase was beat to hell. Sent it to be refurbished and it was cheaper to buy a new one with their trade in credit. Will probably not go back to LW once this one gives out in 4-5years.
