Many of us have been furloughed before and worked for companies that folded. And that was without a CARES act, no money flowing from the government to stay home or work low hours. No extended unemployment, no paid health care, no jobs in sight.


At the beginning of 2020, I was amazed at the incredible salaries people were getting in the majors, the quick upgrades, and the profit sharing checks. Unbelievable. And saddened after many quarters of poor earnings reports, increased competition and a pathetic peak season, wondering if my company was going to survive in the future.


I'm not posting my numbers, but I wouldn't begrudge anyone who did. I'm actually quite curious. It sounds like the consensus here is that if you're at a company that did well in 2020, it's offensive to post how well you did.....and if you are at a company that took money from the CARES act, you don't want the public to know how much you made, while barely (or not) working.

Even more if you just wanted to play the game and work all the time. The numbers are further inflated by a shortage of warm bodies due to Covid and precautionary quarantine measures sidelining a significant chunk of the pilot group.
