This thread for 2020 just doesn't make sense in terms of using it for future career reference. We never had mass paid voluntary leaves like this. We never had this version of the early outs or the zero time lines. Partial lines, A, B, C monthly guarantees, dequals, etc, all of that is exclusive for this year. For passenger carrying operations, t's not an accurate snapshot of anything other than how much money someone made. I've been fortunate this year myself, even being able to keep my upgrade. There's no open time to pick up, not a lot of per diem being collected, just month after month of guarantee. That's info that can easily be searched in the airline profile page. I don't know what positives come out of this years edition of this thread.
Thank you, Captain Obvious!! I think anyone reading with half a brain can figure that out.

Work rules! I made more in 2020 and worked way fewer days due to cancelled flights and our cancellations pay and guarantee. I guess someone could look to see how an airlines work rules affect pay especially in bad times.
contracts are there to protect us in the bad times.

Same here. Much less block.

I definitely agree with the comment about work rules. Especially in times like these, they are critical.

Sure, this thread is rather inappropriate in this miserable year. But no, it's not the most horrible, tone deaf thread that ever existed. For those who are offended, they can pass on by. Just don't click on it.
Many of us have been furloughed before and worked for companies that folded. And that was without a CARES act, no money flowing from the government to stay home or work low hours. No extended unemployment, no paid health care, no jobs in sight.
At the beginning of 2020, I was amazed at the incredible salaries people were getting in the majors, the quick upgrades, and the profit sharing checks. Unbelievable. And saddened after many quarters of poor earnings reports, increased competition and a pathetic peak season, wondering if my company was going to survive in the future.
I'm not posting my numbers, but I wouldn't begrudge anyone who did. I'm actually quite curious. It sounds like the consensus here is that if you're at a company that did well in 2020, it's offensive to post how well you did.....and if you are at a company that took money from the CARES act, you don't want the public to know how much you made, while barely (or not) working.

how much ACMI pilots earn during busy times
How Fedex and UPS contracts perform during busy times and which of the two wins out.
how LCC and Legacy contracts perform in lean times compared to the previous year. Looking at these stats can give you an indication of the volatility of pax CBA’s compared each other and to aforementioned cargo carriers.
Maybe non mainstream operators you wouldn’t even have considered would show some surprising stats.
A better question is: how could this hurt? Besides hurting a few fragile egos this thread might at worst be of no value.

Congratulations..... Now whats your point? This thread has been going for 15 years. In good times and bad. Lets keep it going. We don't need pointless comments like yours derailing it. What you said adds absolutely no substance. Thanks

The reality was that financially 2020 was for the cargo guys what 2019 was for the pax guys. At my company you could easily increase your annual income by greater than 50%. Even more if you just wanted to play the game and work all the time. The numbers are further inflated by a shortage of warm bodies due to Covid and precautionary quarantine measures sidelining a significant chunk of the pilot group. Effectively, if you didn’t mind laying over in a hotel room you couldn’t leave and risking detention in overseas quarantine facilities it was “great”. QOL BLEW CHUNKS!!
OP, you could have just said you work for FedEx. No need to post your numbers since the world pretty much knows freight guys are still working the same or more.
