Switched to the gold. The gold is a much better fit for my needs. You need to see what your needs are and what card works for those needs.
Platinum worked when we were without kids and traveled. Now with kids, 4x points on restaurants and groceries are our jam. Boy how life changes

If I had to pick from those 2, I would earn more from the gold (excluding the sign up bonus). I would rather go with Chase trifecta. Chase freedom unlimited, chase freedom flex, and Chase Sapphire Preferred or Reserve. The points from the freedom can transferred to the Sapphire, which can be transferred to Chase's partner or use it in the portal. I'm sitting on 260K points from Chase which most are earned from the Freedom's 3% or 5% categories. IMO if I have to pick one card it would be the Chase Sapphire Reserve.

The $300 annual travel rebate effectively brings annual fee down to $250. It was $450 but went to $550 this year.
A few other perks like Lyft Pink and DashPass have been useful to me as well.

I believe those miles are limited to Delta. For the same annual fee the AMX platinum is 100K MR points (last I saw) that can be transfer to Delta or other travel partners, and have the same lounge access.

CSR is tough to beat if you have high travel/dining spend. Effectively a 4.5% return if you redeem through their travel portal.

Interesting, that sounds like maybe the AMEX platinum is a better deal for many. I never use the Delta companion pass they give you with the Amex, but the MQMs are valuable to me, so I guess that’s what I’m trading off for.
