Not really the same. That would be commuting on your own time at Delta but a guaranteed way to get to work. At FedEx that commute is a paid day and a guaranteed way to work.

And you accrue miles and status.

Huge mistake if FedEx decides not to hire you. I would also keep in mind that we are 1 accident away from ending commuting as we know it today.

I assume you did not follow events after the Colgan accident. We came very close to having commuting count toward rest and duty requirements. ALPA beat that off last time. If we have another accident where poor commuting choices are a factor they won’t win that issue again.

Yep I agree. I’ve since reevaluated and have DL and UA apps out, and will take the first offer I receive.

That is the smart choice with the high volume of current hiring. Nothing prevents you from leaving for FedEx from Delta or United. Delta is also adding a SLC training facility. Not having to go to ATL is a plus.
