You're making stuff up out of thin air, and passing it off as a fact.
You have no idea what the FAA will do. They are not the most rational actors, nor the most cutting-edge adapters, when it comes to medical considerations.

...and the (so-called) Pilot shortage is over. Hiring has stopped at some airlines, dramatically slowed at the largest ones, even shedding Pilots at some, while ATP production numbers are at a record high. The whole premise for this money grab is gone.

No I'm not, I'm speculating about something which has not even happened yet and downstream consequences. I didn't state or remotely imply that it's "fact", I just stated my opinion.

Only a complete effing moron would think ithat is "fact"

Do we have a cog test on the shelf ready to go? Wouldn’t it need to be vetted, agreed upon by multiple parties, tested, have AMEs trained on it, and then implemented?
Then you have unions and companies getting involved. It sounds like a lot of uncertainties.
Again, not that it matters for the near future.
The speed at which government agencies move…
The current age 67 proposal will either pass as written, or get deleted in conference. That proposal does not include any changes to medical standards (I'm pretty sure IIRC).

IF it were to pass, then it's possible the FAA would look at medical standards... as you say that would certainly take some time. There are various cog tests available, but they'd have to be vetted for applicability to our application, possibly customized, and then studies done to find out what the pass/fail threshold should be. So that would be down the road if at all.

But cog decline is probably the lesser issue, since routine recurrent training and checking will catch that at some point. Medical concerns related to age 65 will probably focus more on sudden incapacitation.

Also possible conference will reach a compromise of some sort...

As I've suggested, give the FAA three years to do a study and then make an affirmative decision based on that (or report back to congress so they can decide).

Also possible that the Senate might let age 67 slide in on the condition that medical standards get reviewed and modified as necessary by the FAA for 65+

Ten-ish.

Math says I can retire early sixties and intend to do so. Although if we have a big downturn, blackswan, global thermonuclear war, bad flu season, etc I would work longer if necessary to ensure retirement QOL. If I wanted to move to Little Rock, live in a double-wide, watch daytime TV and play on the municipal course I could have retired years ago.

Since we began this journey, we said SCIENCE NOT AGE should drive public policy about pilot retirement. Today the trumpets blared on CBS Sunday Morning and we watched a substantive discussion by medical experts about aging, skills, testing, and ENDING AGEISM by fixing arbitrary retirement ages. Trust the testing! #drmarkkatlic

Hate to break it to you, but science is not on your side, nor are the Pilot studies performed thus far. You want to show us that is? You can't.
And how selfish it is to benefit from everyone else retiring, then when it's your turn start calling it "ageism".
And how reckless to try to ram a logistical nightmare through without any data on your side or regard for the cost of it to your airline...all about you.
And how greedy it is to work with anti-labor politicians and lobbying groups like RAA.
You should have planned for the date you knew full well was coming like the rest of us did.

Nice, now we have admins calling people F&*# morons. Anyone that has followed your posts knows that despite you acting like an expert in everything from Biology to Chemistry to Politics you are you flat out wrong on more than 80% of your facts that you present as "opinions."
