Whether or not it moves the needle remains to be seen. |

We are one management deception from it not being close at all. There are referees in that regard (the NMB) but that process moves very slowly. The only losers are the pilots. Who are years out on even having a raise, with record inflation while working for an airline that has record profits.
But they may be in or very close to checkmate, since the top boyz (I use the term loosely) are in danger of loosing their own jobs if operational meltdowns and bad publicity continue... they probably don't have time to wait for the next big recession, nuclear war, etc. They probably got a little hopeful with the red army moving west into Europe, but that fizzled quickly. The one they thing they value more than defeating the pilot group (again) is their own cushy gigs. |

I'm assuming that particular management team is still keeping an eye out for an angle to screw the pilots as usual. So wouldn't bank on anything just yet.

The real question here is if the operational meltdowns and resultant mass cancelations are not actively being planned for? Profits during the last meltdown season and resultant consolidation were massive. 14% I believe. Staffing woes may not be leverage if the meltdowns result in record profits. Is this how the airline will be run? In the long term? Short term? Only time will tell. Look for the next crisis February 1. |

Who has both a recruitment and a retention problem? That's who's next.
