Yeah I knew about Bend.

Was the PQI issue a bad approach due to possible LOC/GS issues or did they goof up the GA in addition to the approach guidance problem?

well, the decision to proceed without an actual runway in sight was sort of problematic…

Check out the FDR printout in the NTSB report, they got a shaker the first go-around.

They’re lucky all they did was land next to the runway.

EVERYONE knows this WILL happen eventually, it's just that Boeing needs to keep "helping" the reelection funds of a few more politicians to make it a reality. That takes a bit of time and discretion.

My mistake. Threeighteen responded to a post by ooof about secondary barriers with a comment about IRCDs in cargo aircraft. So I got confused about which exactly they were referring to.

As for CASS, that doesn’t allow pilots to bring horse tranquilizer needles on board. The rules for allowing supernumeraries (background checks, employment by airline, random drug testing, what they are allowed to bring on board, etc) are vastly different than for pilots, mechanics, dispatchers, controllers, FAA, even flight attendants.

It’s a relatively small price for a reasonable added layer of security.
