Takes a bit more than selling back vacay and picking up a trip here and there. As my Atlas buddy texted me in response: 15 days off a month doesn’t mean 15 days at home per month. Merry Xmas / Happy Holidays however y’all do it!
Atlas still pays premium for all flying touching China. For alot of guys, that can be a majority of their flying. I don’t know if that’s the case for this guy….But I made about $360K as a jr CA at K4 with a few days of OT and hardly any respectable work rules. The money is there, but you earn every penny of it. I bounced to start over at a legacy.

My number was days at home.

When most trips you fly pay 175% it adds up. My best month was 176 hours without working a single extra day, and that was year 1 junior FO flying.
135 a month wasn't even hard this year. In fact, I'd say in ANC it was below average.
My best month was 38k, as a year 2 FO.

The highest guarantee I saw this year was 209 hours. Fly a bit OT and you could credit 300hrs in a month.
We had at least one senior CA who broke 7 figures.

AA 10 year NB CA

LC rsv every month.
Pick up zero extra flying.
dropped a dozen days unpaid.
took all my vacation days.

274 x 73 = 240k income

240k x .16 = 38k in 401k

throw in some per diem and training pay I made a bit more than that but not much.

union logbook says about 340 hrs block. Assuming that doesn’t include all the deadheading I do. Don’t feel like digging any further.

A little different this year.
I did “wakeful hours.”
ie, Hours away from home 6:30am-10:30pm.
Time Away from home, not base
(includes any driving time)
You provide arguably the best contribution each year. Thank you.

Senior International Jet Captain at a Major Airline (I fly to Mexico)

Salary 240Kyear

401k 56k (I like to include my contribution so it’s counted twice to make it seem like I make more than I really do)

30K worth of a good QOL

45K worth of work rules

6K fudge factor just incase my total compensation is too low

20k for having a bigger ego than the plane I fly

36 Atlantic crossings for the year (IAH-CUN) (also not sure why I am even posting this or anyone cares)

$377K total compensation

Thanks Bobby. Construction was very good to me but like many things, there comes a time to hang it up. I probably would have been ahead financially had I stayed that path, but I changed to flying and I have more freedom and time off.

Anyway back to the W-2’s. It’s great to have people willing to share like they do.

Last January I bought a $2 scratch off and won $5. Based on that I can take my regular salary and project I have to potential to make over 600k.

Lots of Article 33 flying at x1.75 to be had, at least on the 747. I credited about 225 hours during my outbase month because of Article 33.
