that's an average of 63h per month. i dont think thats a lot. I block over 80 every month at my new carrier. albeit willingly to maximize earnings at a younger age and buy a house ca$h.

Since he didn’t mention it,I assumed since he’s a topped out SWA captain he’s bidding a line with very productive trips.

Hmm, flying a line and sitting reserve in base is apples/oranges… some consider being on long call reserve work… some (like me) don’t. I bid mix of line/reserve months based on time of year… in the end I’ve flown a total of 85 days (actual time away on a trip) flying 767/757 internationally… this includes months I was a lineholder and months on reserve and being actually called in to fly. On average I fly 3-5 days a month on reserve… 13-14 days as a LH flying international. I’ll bank just shy of 500K this year in pay (not including b/c fund)… good year of sitting on my butt most of the time. Handful of premium pay trips and double dips when OPs buys me off and I pick up something else.

Key is living in base.

Or he’s giving it away and picking up premium.
