Boots for work.

Appreciate the recommendation. Website said 10-12 weeks for delivery as they had to special order them but they actually arrived from Oz in less than a week! They are absolutely fantastic: looks sharp and comfy as heck right out of the box. Already ordered another color for personal use. Worth every penny.

Have you never done a pre flight when there's enough snow on the ground that would get into the ankle of a regular low cut dress shoe? Are you sure you're an airline pilot that's ACTUALLY flown in various climates?
I don't commute anymore, but it's also nice to have a shoe (boot) that provides protection walking to to/from the crashpad, hotel, what have you.
^^^^^ This too. In the winter I wear a "chelsea" boot that has an old school hiking boot tread pattern on it. Yet, looks like a regular formal dress shoe. Utile/functional yet has the look of a normal dress shoe.
This threa needs some Ooff to school us on the merits of their $800 shoes.

Are you able to get to Australia with your flying or otherwise? Get some RM Williams Comfort Craftsman boots. Expensive as *-@#! but the strong dollar against the Aussie dollar helps. Made from one piece of leather with no seam, like the old Scott flight bags used to be. Last work shoes you'll ever need.
