Appreciate the recommendation. Website said 10-12 weeks for delivery as they had to special order them but they actually arrived from Oz in less than a week! They are absolutely fantastic: looks sharp and comfy as heck right out of the box. Already ordered another color for personal use. Worth every penny.

Glad to hear it. Keep them polished and conditioned every so often with their leather conditioner or a similar one and I'm sure you'll get many years of use out of them.

Comfort, utility, and I like the look. Why shoes?

Edit: I also pulled the trigger on the Comfort Craftsman. Best purchase I’ve made and hopefully the last work boots I ever buy!

Durability for me, plus when I was an FO boots offered rubber soles with better traction on icy ramps. I ended up on my back once during a walkaround…

way more comfortable, don’t have to bend over and tie them each time.. easy to kick them off in crew rest or going through security

Have you never done a pre flight when there's enough snow on the ground that would get into the ankle of a regular low cut dress shoe? Are you sure you're an airline pilot that's ACTUALLY flown in various climates?

I don't commute anymore, but it's also nice to have a shoe (boot) that provides protection walking to to/from the crashpad, hotel, what have you.

^^^^^ This too. In the winter I wear a "chelsea" boot that has an old school hiking boot tread pattern on it. Yet, looks like a regular formal dress shoe. Utile/functional yet has the look of a normal dress shoe.

This threa needs some Ooff to school us on the merits of their $800 shoes.

Too real. When I commuted, I remember walking through 8" of snow during storms in Chicago in the dead of winter, dragging my stupid luggage behind me on the long way to the crashpad. It was an incredibly miserable experience, but at least my ropers kept my feet nice and dry.
