Uniform shoes

Not really, folks have been working in western boots since before the airplane. They come with a coating on them that can be slick, but if you walk much that comes off in a half mile or so.
I’ve also not had a foot sweat issue, not sure if that’s medical or bad boots?
Personally I find the leather sole great for rudder work.
Also looks wise it beats the salesman/officeboy look of the orthopedic looking shoes I see many wearing
The other benefit is you can have them re soled for not much.

Just a bummer it has the rougher texture to it.

The Aussie standard. Best made and most comfortable boots I have ever worn. Worth the dough, especially if you are able to get to Australia and buy them there with the exchange rate.

I have a wide foot and ordered my normal size in their wide. It was tight at first but they eventually broke in and are perfect now.

I started a thread like this a while back. It was… not especially popular.
I ended up with the Lems Nine2Five. They’ve worked well for me and they look great when polished, but the price seems to have gotten pretty absurd since I bought them a few years ago, so I’d have a hard time recommending them at full retail.
At this point I’ve moved all of my footwear toward foot-shaped, zero-drop shoes. Foot health matters, and spending a lifetime in narrow, heeled, “shoe-shaped shoes” just doesn’t make much sense to me.

4010805[/url]]Yeah they'll definitely last a long time. They look great with the right pants. When I was at OO, a lot of guys west of DEN would wear boots too wide for their slim fit pants and they'd looked ridiculous. I think Tecovas makes some low cut boots I've seen some FOs wear that pair great with less baggy pants
Jetseam has a good quasi boot cut that works well with nicer western boots
Wearing a womans/“skinny” cut looks odd on a man regardless of their footwear lol

These are great slippers for around the house. Maybe I should start wearing them to work

I am gonna say, the Amberjacks are a massive miss for me. Every shoe I have had for 30 years is a 10 regular. I’m used to dress shoes starting feeling a little tighter that I like and then they wear in. These felt even tighter but it’s worse than that. They’re tighter on the front middle of my foot (the widest part), yet looser around the ankle than normal. Been wearing them for the last two days trying to wear them in and trying to use the laces to get the fit better (looser at the bottom, tighter at the top). The result is a massive blister on the back of my ankle on one foot and a massive blister on the right side of the bottom of my other foot. These may be awesome once they are worn in but I’ve never had to deal with this kind of wear in.
