I think the two bogus impeachments his first term so devalued impeachment by a partisan House majority that he doesn’t even mind going for the hat trick. And even if the opposition takes the Senate, the likelihood of them getting the 67 votes needed to actually CONVICT is pretty near negligible. He’d have to lose 16-17 seats out of the 20 up for a vote and have every Dem senator voting against him. Not impossible but extremely unlikely. And then what? JD Vance finishes out his term?

And the recent SCOTUS decision essentially outlawing majority-minority districts (which account for at least 69 House districts) makes even getting a majority in the House voting against him difficult and keeping that majority in 2028 even more problematic.

‘26 district map shift/impact unknown at this time…

“I don’t think it’s going to be a huge change for most districts in 2026,” says Justin Levitt, a former Justice Department civil rights official during the Obama administration. In addition to the legal legwork, state legislators could face resistance from incumbents in their own party who are already campaigning in their current districts. “There are legal and political reasons to think that the 2026 cycle is more or less locked in,” says Professor Levitt, who now teaches law at Loyola Marymount University in California.

Yes, wouldn't bet on it for 2026.

They are in disarray, if you follow such things. If they want to ride the pendulum they need to coalesce around something other than Trump, like policies. That don't involve dying on 80/20 hills.

Shyguy probably still doesn’t know who built the cages at the border.

I have a non pilot Liberal Minnesota University taught friend who’s been using this same “Saudi Arabia” terrorist talking point for years.

not sure where they got it or why they think it’s some gotcha, but my buddy does the exact same thing.

remind us again why Spirit went bankrupt twice this year and wasn’t allowed to merge?

Because Spirit’s CEO testified that they didn’t need the merger to survive, and Jet Blue testified that this would reduce competition and raise prices. That’s exactly what antitrust laws are designed to prevent.

If either executive testified differently it is very likely the outcome would have been different.

Doubt it, the Biden administration wanted it blocked so it was going to be blocked no matter what. Just the fact the lawsuit was brought was the nail in the coffin.

WSJ this morning...

The jet-fuel crisis is turning into a disaster for airlines.

Spirit’s demise is a silver lining for the airlines it competes with. Rivals will backfill some of the vacuum Spirit’s absence leaves behind—JetBlue immediately announced 11 new destinations from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Analysts have said that Spirit’s closure will take unprofitable flying out of the market, giving the remaining airlines more pricing power.
