You would have to work twenty out of twenty-eight days while averaging 11hrs/day to hit that limit. Restricting pilots to less than one third of their life in an airplane doesn't seem too unreasonable.

It's not 220 in 168, but rather 220 flight duty period hours within a rolling 672-hour (28-day) window.
You would have to work twenty out of twenty-eight days while averaging 11hrs/day to hit that limit. Restricting pilots to less than one third of their life in an airplane doesn't seem too unreasonable.
