FlightAware only shows 17 airborne flights total right now for Spirit. https://www.flightaware.com/live/fleet/NKS

Things aren’t over until they’re over. I truly hope Spirit survives in some form or another. That said, I am truly grateful to have found a lifeboat, and the fact that people senior to me were in my class made my justification feel that much better. It’s tough to start over, especially for those of us who were/are towards the top. I totally understand. I hope everything works out for everyone there.

Just to clear up baseless speculation, none of what you're all posting (5 planes parked in DFW, 17 planes in the air) have any correlation or relation to any potential liquidation. For Tues and Wed Spirit plans to fly around 200 flights/day, vs 400 on other days, a dramatic planned decrease. There were also additional tactical cancellations throughout the month due to fuel prices.

Spirit is also flying aircraft to Victorville today. Those are the 20 held for sale aircraft that was meant to be sold last year, finally transacting. Again, nothing to do with this news from 'sources'.

Are these the same sources earlier in the year where the Air Current came out with the article about Spirit not making payroll that had everyone in a frenzy? Everyone was saying how Jon Ostower (or whatever his name is) was one of the most reliable sources in aviation news.

Could be wrong, but I'll believe it when I see it.

This sounds just like that week where the Air Current came out with the article about Spirit not making payroll that had everyone in a frenzy. Could be wrong, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Look, as someone that left 12 years of NK seniority behind, I want to believe that it will turn around for them. It was a great place to work. I'll never have an aviation job that good again.

The truth of the matter is the airline hasn't turned a profit in 7
years.
At some point something is gonna give, and that give is an unnecessary war in Iran that's driving Jet A prices to an unsustainable level for an airline going through bankruptcy for the second time in as many years. This airline has now been screwed by back to back administrations.

Very true sadly. If they struggled to make money when fuel prices were in the $2.2x range I’d hate to think how much larger the losses are as it approaches $5. Hoping for the best for the Spirit, awesome group of pilots.

In terms of recent meaningful developments, the DOJ filing on 4/10 objecting to bankruptcy exit is pretty significant.
