Congrads on going straight to the interview.
Without knowing how far your commute is, I'd book for two days. This time of year a little adverse weather can fill those hotels around the airport with barely a moment's notice. Besides you want to be calm and relaxed, not worrying about hotel rooms... and a very good trial attorney once told me, "sleep is a weapon." By being well rested you can be sharper, better on your feet and perform the interview with a better result.
I would not bring your luggage with you, since you will be going from place to place and the new offices do not have as much storage room as the 4th floor used to have.
Besides, I think it just looks better to have a nice suit and a small portfolio, or attache case, for your required copies and logbooks. Simple and relaxed as opposed to looking like a guy running for a connecting flight.
Good luck - there are still supposed to be 400 behind you this year to staff all the 737's, MD-90's, two more 757's and 777's coming in 2008. Even with all the merger talk, I do not see the picture changing through the end of this year.

Thanks,
Being from the South (NC), Delta has always been my first choice. I'm not worried about the merger talk. DL is still where I want to be and I'm not going to lose sleep over something I have no control over. Sure, it's a little nerve wracking to leave the relative security I currently have at my regional airline, but in the long term making the move is still worth it.
I was planning on leaving all my stuff at the hotel, but I was curious as to what others had done in the past.

Most had a new'ish looking black attache' case that probably was bought for the interview. I got shoe polish and shined my Scott flight bag because my logbook & training records have gotten too big to fit in a slim case.
Bringing your luggage makes you look like an applicant on the "Apprentice."

Any of you been through the pre-screen process.. Looking for some insider gouge on someone who has sat down with the CP recently. Also, is it worth trying to get a business like the interview prep done before the pre-screen.. Still looking for anyone that has been through the new test recently and how they went about prepping.

I can tell you that, he needs to go in and see John Mills. He is the guy that gives a thumbs up or down and then it moves to Arnie. Arnie is getting too many unsolicited e-mails and phone calls to deal with it himself. They are always happy to have a DELTA pilot come on in to the office to pitch a candidate.
That said, if you have someone willing to do this. Get the app done perfectly, get a good resume, and send it to them. This way when he walk in and they meet with him face to face, they will be able to see that it was not something that you threw together. Rather it is your BEST foot forward, and that you really want to be here. Then John will look at it. See if it is what they are looking for, and then forward it to Arnie, who will give it the ultimate thumbs up or down.
Let me stress that this app has to be error free. Not just spelling, but punctuation, grammar, as well as ever box that needs to be filled out is done so correctly and efficiently. It truly has to show that you took a ton of time with this. DO you times need to add up, but you need to show why. IE make sure that any weird things on your app can be explained by the guy or gal walking your stuff in. They need to KNOW you not just be acquainted with you. Get me drift.
We have over 12K apps on file. They want the best, not just someone that will do. When there is an idiot that gets through the process and get on line, they hear about it. Success to them, is great comments in the evals that every Captain that you fly with fills out. They also like to hear that the individuals are making flying with pleasurable. They have made sure that people that cannot answer the questions correctly in the interview do not make it through. That is why there are so many busts in that area as of late. You must be able to represent yourself well on paper and in person. Show that you are a polished individual that takes pride in everything you do. It is a lot of BS, but it helps see the forest from the trees.

Does anybody have some good sample technical, cog, and HR questions for the Delta interview? I have a Delta interview coming up, and I have not interviewed in over 10 years. With a 1 year old at home and a full schedule I really need to maximize what limited time I have to prepare. Any gouge will be greatly appreciated.

Take a look at the thread here titled "Latest and Greatest about Delta" or words to that effect - it's a huge thread but wade through it for the interview questions and study guides. Also look at Will Fly for Food and aviationinterviews.com. There are a couple of other threads here that have more interview specific questions for DAL.
You might also look at some of the books recommended such as Checklist for Success (<60 minute read) by Cheryl Cage.
Hope this helps and good luck!

I had a buddy of mine walk my resume into the ALT CPO a few weeks ago and immediately after that meeting, he called me w/a phone # I needed to call in order to schedule an interview pre-screen. I called the # the next day and scheduled my pre-screen for this coming Tuesday.
Does anyone have any more specifics on the pre-screen interviews i.e. types of HR questions? Does any one know how long these interviews last or know any technical questions that would be asked? I plan to wear a suit and bring my log books, my DAL buddies signed LOR and my printed airlineapps application with me.
As far as being gramatically correct on my application, I have proof read it many times as well as checked to make sure all the dates are as accurate as possible. I will have a non-pilot proof read it before I leave for ATL on Monday.
The one problem that I do run into when I print my application is the fast that the "Educational Achevements" text box on the printed application shows up as one long running sentence, no matter how I enter the data on the page you must input the information on. Has anyone else run into this problem? I think it is just a software problem but it still looks pretty sloppy on the printed form of my application.
I would be grateful for any thoughts or advice.
