justin Mancuso in his Triad talk column on the front page of this weeks print version 2/24 to 3/1 flew on SX and trashed from a writer's perspective. he cited his trip and the long delay with no updates. i completely understand a new operation working out the kinks..
but i was most amazed at Bob tennebaum's comments ( high up , don't know his title) he said, Skybus isn't for everybody... you know i think he is right.
his dismissal of the complaint since the writer called him to tell him about it shows the Mgt is settling into a " we don't care if you come back mentality"
this will hurt you. i think they can survive and flourish but it won't be in this current vein of a carrier who peddles products while flying people. if they wise up and change the attitude and try to retain customers and not tell them to" don't let the door hit you in the arse" like Tennebaum did, well I can see them riding out this early operational screw up mode that they're in.

How often do you fly Cal?
That said, according to my coworkers they are the way to go when DH'ding.
Something that's not mentioned, but normally JB, SWA and even CAL are NOT the cheapest way to fly. Just a better experience that folks who travel a lot will pay more for.
I think the term "passenger experience" gets lost in the $'s too often.

Many of us feel that way too, but they're telling us that we're wrong and the passenger loads are bearing them out to be correct. This is more a Ryan Air experience than a Southwest, though I know we crew (and FA's) try our best to make it as "normal" as we can, and I'd even go so far as to say our usually young and attractive FA's are quite friendly and provide great customer service.

Great first post... correct my grammar.. Go on, do a post search and see how often I messed that (or any grammar) up.. That's what is known in debate parlance as a "red herring"
Nevertheless, thanks for your contribution.

You're correct.. Har(ing) is not what I meant to say.
See what happens when we go down this road!
However, after it being pointed out by a fellow member to me via PM, I've re-read my post (something I should do more often), and the use of They're was indeed in the correct context, so I guess I retract my first correction, but will keep my second one.

From a customer standpoint, there is no such thing as a "premium" airline any more. At least not when it comes to domestic US travel. Even 1st class these days sucks.
Personally, I'll drive 10 hours as opposed to flying for 3. I hate the drive, but I hate the hassle and drama that airlines (and their predominantly melancholy employees) bring these days.
