I don't think it's out of line with a friendly email updating your status. I think it shows them your commitment to the company. Besides, what's the worst that could come to it? Un-hire you again?? Good luck, bro.

Does that mean we will fly them until 0200 and start again at 0300?? I'm gonna hate that 0200 hotel van!

Congrats to the Air Tran guys. What a stupid furlough. Most furloughs only make financial sense for the company if they keep guys out for two years or more. This is a result of furlough compensation, training costs for displacements, etc. To only have these guys out for such a short time meant Air Tran lost money by furloughing. Hopefully this will be the case for the other airlines furloughing as well. Good luck to all.

Just a question - did you incorporate an open time ban after the furlough? We have it in our contract at big brown, can't remember if NPA contract has the same clause? If so, that'd explain the short furlough too...

AV8OR, Nope. Nothing in the contract with regards to open time bans. Some folks don't, some folks do. Nothing in regard to captains in the right seat, either. It's all "voluntary".

So, some people have actually been picking up open time while their brothers and sisters were kicked to the curb?

Unfortunately that's happening not only there, but at CAL too. Too many guys looking out for only themselves...
