Thumbs down Cut your losses

As hard as it may be to have lost your jobs in this manner, it is even harder to put past you what you all may feel is owed to you.

If the experiences of kiwi, and sky trek airlines (B727) are any indication of what the compensation is like after a company folds from under you......take my word for it that what anyone will get is pennies on the dollar and that is if you are lucky after many years. Hardly outweighs the cost of hiring legal help and getting back your time wasted.

Im very sorry guys/gals.......its best to move forward and put this wretched mess behind. I basically busted guarantee and was owed $4,000 for 2 weeks of work that I never saw a dime of. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but it was something that I knew I was never going to see a net benefit from.

What an industry!

Having not had the experience personally, I think that this is excellent advice !

From what I've read, have been told and the research that I've done on William Rogers and his "team" indicate that there may not be any financial resources available from this con artist. If that's the case, pursuing legal action in civil court against him is, as cac737 points out, is fruitless and a waste of your resources.

For my two cents, letting the State of North Carolina Insurance Commission and Dept. of Labor address the felony charges and lead the criminal action and possibly filing a federal case under the WARN Act is the best possible action for the pilot group and all employees at Pace. At least they have some teeth from a state and even federal statute standpoint. Filing civil cases is pointless as one can't get "blood from a turnip".

Cac737 is correct in my view....Roy Rogers and Art Carney form one of the best Snake Oil Salesman teams ever and it's unfortunate the current employees at Pace had to pay the circus admission.

Don't forget Mr. Richardson, he's not completly innocent in all of this. Sad to see you head off to China, unfortunately I think that will be the fate for many of us. But keep me posted, I'm looking into it as well.

::Bump::

Some people on JobVent are saying that some guy named Lee Booth has purchased the 145 certificate from Rogers. Anyone have any deets?

Wonder if Rogers will sell the 121 certificate, or if he'll go down in flames with it?

Not to sound rash here.....but who gives a rats ass? The certificate and anything associated with pace is total crap at this point.

I hope for the sake of the good pace memory and that of it's people.....that the name isn't basterdized and done massive injustice the likes of what was done to the Pan Am name.....or was that Pan Am II or Pan Am III?

I thought aviation was supposed to kill you quickly?!

We were already, technically, Pace II and hardly anyone knew who we were anyway. So I don't care who buys it, or what they do with it as long as it may give me a shot at a job close to home again. As far as Lee Booth is concerned, he was the guy that invested that unknown amount of money towards the end, and he was also the reason Dallas backed out so I'm told. Rogers was willing to sell to Dallas, and Booth wanted more money for the certificate. Now this is all second (third, fourth, ect.) hand.

The FAA's website still has 373PA listed on Pace's certificate, as well as 767MW. So cac737, if you don't want to hear me asking about the possibility of the certificate being sold, or investors coming in, then don't read this thread. I'm sorry to hear that you lost out on $4,000, but as long as there is hope of getting some part of my pay, I will pursue every avenue. I will not let Rogers get away with lying to us about paychecks and stringing us out till the airplanes were repo'd and the airline had to be shut down.

I have moved on, and am looking forward to working somewhere else in the future, but I want my money!!

Eatin Ramen.....I am truly sorry for you and the rest that stuck with Pace till the very end. Everyone was done serious injustice.....I just hate to see good people continue to be strung along in the false hopes of getting something which they will not get. Does anyone know what happened to the health insurance premiums that the employees paid but were not received by the insurance company? That and other vast sums are going to first go to creditors. They get first dibs on any money and even so will only get pennies on the dollar. Given this fact and the case histories of other airline failures/bankruptcy's/ceased operations etc.....how much IF ANYTHING will be left to go towards employees back pay? So much as long as people invest any time and effort to getting something from someone who was arrested is only diluting yourself and not truly moving on.

Again, sorry that this had to happen to more people.....I just know from first hand experience that there is nothing to be had from this. Any sane investor will not want to touch the certificate with so much unsettled questions surrounding it and it doesn't even have any assets to its name!
God speed everyone.....

Complete Coverage of the Pace Airlines Saga

WINSTON-SALEM - Financially troubled Pace Airlines is getting new investors and talking about rehiring some workers.

Pace vice president Stuart Carnie told FOX8 on Monday former William Rodgers signed documents last week relinquishing his ownership of the airline. Carnie would not reveal the names of the airline's new investors.

Pace has taken control of a building on Tucker Street in Burlington near the Burlington Airport. Carnie said the business will use that location and Smith Reynolds Airport in Winston-Salem as it gets back up and running again.

Carnie also revoked his interest in Rodgers' bond, meaning Rodgers was once again booked into the Forsyth County jail on charges he failed to pay health insurance premiums for Pace employees.

Carnie explained: "At this point, he's no longer involved with the company because he signed off his ownership of the company. It's no longer prudent for me to be a part of the situation."

Rodgers was still being held in the Forsyth County jail late Monday night.

Pace Airlines stopped operating in September. Many of its 300 employees were not paid in August and September. All of them were let go in two separate layoffs after Rodgers took control.

The U.S. Labor Department is investigating.
