This pull down will not result in furloughs. The last displacements planned for this if we decided not to do it, we would have had a reinstatement.
DAL is about 150~ or so pilot fat going in to the summer
Post SOC the joint company will be about 160~ or so short.

Needless to say go get your wives pregnant. :)

I do not know. I just started calling people until I got someone that knew what was going on.
Call over there, see what they say.
I guess to those in the know it is not a big deal.
What I did notice on the internal memo was that these cuts were why they asked for more voluntary early outs. They stated that overall they were happy with the staffing cuts, but there were a few areas that were still over staffed. I saw that a good sign. I then made some calls.

They could make a liar out of me, but there was some really good data to back up the statement.
Steve should be in the ATL lounge today. Someone can ask him there.

Thanks for the quick response ACL. :) One think I've noticed since our relationship with DAL began is that DAL management seems to really be on top of things. They seem very pro-active, & that is somewhat comforting.

PS-My wife is 33 weeks pregnant now, so what do I do? ;)

I know and that comment was actually directed at you.

I just hope that this news holds. It sounds like it really will. Add to that, that we have a lot of jets that are getting nice tans in VCV that need to get off vacation. 2010 looks good for those to come back. Once again, I hope that holds

ACL, check your PM

ACL,

Again, thanks for the update from the 4th floor. You can't imagine how relieved some of us bottom-feeders are. I think i'd prefer flying jets than driving trucks, but I was ready to call Truckmaster's!

I agree. I was relieved to hear this from a few folks too.

I heard rumor that we may reduce line values down to 70 hours in order to keep from furloughing....(no idea if it is true or not)

acl65pilot 03-11-2009 09:57 AM

They have done that. We have been at about 72 all winter. It will go up this summer and then we will go back down to that in the fall. I see a few SIL's coming too. They love those things. They work real well and effectively pay for the health care of those on SIL. (+ a little bit)
They are great furlough mitigation.
