With all these capacity reductions DAL has done in this past yr. If they even dead even for staffing when the SOC is complete, I'll be very impressed. With that said once they add some capacity back in i'm sure they will need to hire quite a few ppl.

For a left seat, maybe. For a right seat, I couldn't pay a mortgage and for a crash pad on that salary, so what would be the point?

I suspect this will the the primary calculus involved for most faced with this decision. Although I hasten to add, nobody wants to have to make this decision anyway. Here's hoping for the best for everyone.

They have done that. We have been at about 72 all winter. It will go up this summer and then we will go back down to that in the fall. I see a few SIL's coming too. They love those things. They work real well and effectively pay for the health care of those on SIL. (+ a little bit)
They are great furlough mitigation.

On that note, the Nwa side isn't reduced anymore. Which is a good thing because that's also unused breathing room.

I just worked a 12 day stretch & flew 10 of those days. 1 of the 2 days I didn't fly was an FAR rest day. It's not even summer yet. ;)

Things are OK. We may see a displacements but once again, furloughs are not something that is on the radar at this time.

But not the 88 FO's.... We have been at 82 hour ALV ever since NOV2008, and it's 82 again for April (6 months now).

Anyone know what the last pilot/new-hire class was with Delta? Just curious.

If you get furloughed and go to compass, and then find something better and leave compass does it affect your status with mama delta?
