He might have even liked Judas. Now if you were a Pharisee or a Sadducee you might plan on flying a DC-9 with one PAC MEL'd and no APU in the middle of summer forever, if you know what I mean....

You can also reach Asia & Europe non stop. The global position of DTW is invaluable.

I can see MEM, CVG, or even MSP or SLC closing before DTW.
SE Mich has a lot of biz besides the auto industry.

More importantly DTW serves to siphon a lot of connecting UA/AA pax out of ORD from the N and W parts of the country. Originating pax are only part of the story, not to mention the capacity constraint of ORD. If DTW goes away you hand a huge competitive edge to UA/AA.

ATL's nearest major competitive hub is DFW. DTW is to ORD like BOS it to JFK competitively - way too important to let go.

Hear that Carl? You gotz a new relief pilot. NWA320pilot: I'll buy the beer if Carl is too cheap. Why do I think he wont sleep on his breaks?

Man I messed with my Capts a lot before I upgraded. Now that I'm downgraded: hmmmmmmmmm. Can't wait to get back to the line. Right now my kids are taking the brunt of the s..t. If BS aint comming out of my mouth, I'm sleeping.

Oh yea, Carl, I'll be seeing you in NRT! I'll be the drunk one. Come on over and we'll have a cocktail.

USAIR might consider Charlotte a competiting hub. 200 miles away from Atlanta and offering a full range of flight options and destinations.

If you would have actually read my post, you would have seen that was my point too.

Now why would you want to bid an old, worthless, uneconomical airplane that the new Delta can't wait to get rid of?
