lol

That was funny, the whole situation is very bad, but that was funny.

Anyone remember a guy? Frank Lorenzo? He did about the same thing and the ending for some groups did not do well, except for ole' Frank, he made a pile of cash.

I'm not pointing fingers as far as who did what but we all know that scope has taken some HUGE hits in the last decade (that's an understatement). AA's union has stated they would like all American branded flying to be done by American pilots. This, while maybe unrealistic, is a good first step. There is also a grass roots effort at DAL to try and bring Compass equipment and crews onto our list. This is also a step in the right direction. We need to recapture as much flying as possible at the mainline. That way, those of us that are here can keep our jobs and those that want to move up will have the opportunity to do so.

Bring Back Scope Now!
Not only that, but imagine the bargaining power if all flying was under one banner...that's the only reason regionals make sense from a mgmt perspective...it's about leverage

You've hit the nail on the head. Strength in numbers. It's all we've got.

Why would you begin bargaining with concessionary rates? That doesn't seem to make much sense to me. You should start markedly higher, and know that your negotiating floor might be 5% higher than concessionary rates (since they are CONCESSIONARY, and not normal for an airline that is profitable). Just my $.02

You hit the nail on the head. Since none of the majors who gave into concessionary rates have gotten fair wages back, the concessionary wages have now become "industry standard". I am sure the Republic pilot group has something to do with this too.

Just because a pilot group is bigger doesn't mean that they always have more bargaining power. If you were to take a look at some legacies, they are more divided.

When you start to toss in multiple fleet types, scope issues, "protecting those at the top" on the highest paying equipment, it gets worse.

If you want to be taken seriously you don't throw the word "scab" around like its a commodity.
