At full loads a 737 is still an arm and a leg more efficient than the ejets. More than enough to cover any difference in crew costs. The reason companies like UAL are on the verge of BK isn't because of crew pay but more to do with horrible management, multiple fleet types, and a LOT of internal structure costs.

Has RAH's union had a chance to sit down with RAH and negotiate a 190 pay rate yet? Last time I really heard any news about their union it was that their MECs all got fired.
Side note... Remember, these pilots working at RAH right now never knew they would get 190's till recently. So when they went to RAH, the figured they would be flying "Regional Jets". I'm not a RAH pilot, but I have quiet a few friends there that are worried where this is headed. I DO ADMIT, I know one guy there that is the 1%. Thinks this is the greatest thing to happen and that they are set up to turn into a major airline with a regional airline. Hopes this will mean just flat out 100% flow through. (wasn't too fond of that conversation with him, lot's of Major guys that are older and worked their way up there that have to start over. They have families and I kept reminding him of that)

Well that is a function of our wonderful 'fragmented' seniority system. I say this with every bit of sarcasm I can muster. It is just not correct to see pilots with literally decades of experience have to start from square friggen one on yet another damn seniority list.
WE NEED CAREER PORTABILITY! PERIOD! Now whats it gonna take to make that happen so situations such as this specific one RIGHT HERE folks doesn't happen again. How many more airline failures are we going to have to watch happen where good, capable and, highly experienced pilots aren't forced right back to the bottom of someone elses seniority list. We need one list, one union. Otherwise we are nothing more than type writing whiners *****ing and complaining about stuff no one is willing to step up and change. Yes? Whats it gonna take? This is not right (We ALL know this).., and NO it isn't the fault of ANY I repeat.., ANY "PILOT GROUP". That is the unfortunate nature of our industry AND our collective read: fragmented "Pilot Groups." Until we become a TRULY unified profession (Independent of our respective companies/airlines).., guess what, we will continue see this scenario play out again.., and again.
Don't take my word for it.., all one has to do is look at history. Eastern, TWA, Panam, NOW Midwest..,and the list goes on and on. So how many more are we all going to sit back and watch, cursing one pilot group for screwing another before we DO SOMETHING. ALPA, TEAMSTERS, anybody? Our seniority system is BROKEN. This won't change itself folks.
Oh.., and by the way XJTR nobody owe's ANYBODY (ESPECIALLY YOU) anything, have a nice day.
P.S. I AM an RAH Pilot!
