For the concessionary whiners... it's standard for today get over it.
The money and the work rules are a huge step in the right direction. DAL, nope, not SWA rates either... wonder what those guys were making when they were 9 years old? Come on someone do the math and throw in the inflation. I really don't care at this point. The pay raises are huge for the junior guys.
IMO JB is a great place to work and they are working to make it better. Rome built in a day? God took a week, but he's god...
Broken promises, I was lied to, they said I'd upgrade in two weeks.... WAAAAA. We complained about pay and got more $$. It's not industry leading... WAAAAAA. How'd you like to be the top#100-200 at ATA right now or a hand full of others. OOps! (not a shot at ATA guys, I was windycity)
Take the gift horse and move on to the next battle. The war is a life long one.
It's a J-O-B. Some just won't be happy until everyone is P!$$ed off.
Flame on...

C'mon let's not get crazy now. Everyone is equal here, we deserve and receive the same junk insurance the rampers and gate agents get.
BTW- Havn't you heard? The FA's took a cut in hours so we could get out 'raise' not fair if you ask them. Remember... everyone is equal.

A couple points for the hyperbole on both sides. Superpilot, I don't see us "lowering the bar". We were so far below the bar we couldn't see it before, and now we're right in the thick of it. We make far more that Air Tran and CO for same-sized equipment, and are probably in a dead heat with DL when premium pay is considered. As it is the new rates are within a few bucks, even on base pay, whereas before we were 20-30 percent low.
There are no "work rules" per say. We can still be scheduled to FAR limits, although that is rumored to be changing. In the meantime: a decent trip rig, a duty period rig that will either be great or crappy depending on how the trip's built, night over-ride, are being added where none existed before. So again, decent improvements, BUT NOT ENOUGH.
BM, who cares if we're the highest-paid E190 pilots? We're really flying a funny-looking F100/717/DC9 that flies higher and farther than all of the above, and had better be compensated accordingly. Frankly, we're not going to see industry-leading anything out of the goodness of managements' hearts; that will require a CBA.

I understand the point of your post, but I didn't get this statement. I show CAL large narrowbody at $169 per hour, and their small narrowbody at $150 per hour. AAI is at $153 per hour for all their jets. How is that "far more"?

"Hey, my watch is bigger than yours!"

Not sure I understand your logic of "fuzzy math" when comparing the CAL rates (LN) w/ JB's new pay rates?? I can somewhat 'agree' that CAL's LN size is in the ball park of the JB "Bus" as far of comparable equipment size when comparing 'apples v apples' (B7B37-8/9 '150ish' seat depending on config vs. JB's 150 seat config):
CAPT PAY RATES:
YR: 12 LN PAY-
CAL: $169
JB: $159
YR: 6 LN PAY-
CAL: $161
JB: $147
YR: 2 LN PAY-
CAL: $156
JB: $140
Like many others on APC, it has been said time and time AGAIN....Getting locked in with tunnel vision on hourly pay rates as the 'end all, to be all', your completely missing the boat! Settling for an hourly pay raise, then chest thumping it as a victory, the big picture is obviously lost. The 'meat' of any CBA improvement is Rigs/Work Rules/Soft Time/QOL/R&I ect.....w/o those included as the focal points on a CBA, you might as well be buying the 4 tires and forget about the car.
Just help me out in understand in the "FAR MORE" that JB's is making?? Notice your a 190 driver, maybe your refering to the SN payrates....eitherway, not understanding your comparision.
In the end, regardless of the uniform....we all need to improve our pay/rules/R&I from top to bottom.

Agree with both of the above posts. I did make the mistake of focusing on SN vs 190 pay using CO for the payrates. I definitely was not trying to chest-thump; I'm pretty vocal about needing more and needing a union/CBA to accomplish that.
We are gaining some trip/duty rigs, and we already have pay protection, paid training, pretty good schedule flexibility using FLICA, etc. Our other benefits are far subpar, and scope is non-existent.
