It says that the FAA applicants have to have the A330 type. The one's that don't but have A320 types have to have EU licenses. So unless there are people at Delta/US willing to leave their A330 spots or expats abroad willing to come back, this will probably be foreign staffed.

The language that abrogated UAL pilot scope was negotiated by United during the 2003 bankrupcy contract. The new language allowed non-UAL pilots to operate flights in any new joint-venture between "STAR" partners.

FlightPod TV did their first episode on this issue, if you haven't seen it, check it out:

BTW, ALL of FlightPod's content is worth watching/listening. Add it to iTunes!

This was my favorite part....

"including that no tattoos, body piercings or tongue rings are visible in the Aer Lingus Uniform. Tattoos may not be covered with adhesive bandages or by other methods, to render them not visible."

If this cancer is allowed to spread we shall all soon see it in "our" own backyards.

Ok I got it now. I didn't know anything about a joint venture deal or the politics of this whole thing and no I don't live under a rock. I just don't know the internal politics of every airline in the world.

Here's some debate on the subject.

Afterall... how many crews can you be talking about versus the bigger issue is UAL, DAL, AA, etal outsourcing flying to the regionals.
Pretty ignorant statement. If this gets off the ground, it could expand into other markets. Also a template for others to try.

The debate going on at pprune is about their pay package and the Ryanair beast. Nothing about Dulles or crewing it.

My non-US airline has hired FA's in New York, to be based there. Don't some US airlines have non-US FA's in Japan?

The pilot group made their own bed. Now they have to sleep in it.

I have zero sympathy for them.

That's what weak and inept leadership will do for you.
