A/C's deliveries ?

Yes sir, correct.
In my (not so humble) opinion, just because it (open time p/u) is permitted - does not make it right.
It is gut wrenching to hear about the furloughed guys losing homes, spouses, filing bk, etc...
We could stand to take a few lessons from IPA (UPS) and how they attempt to protect their furloughees.
Rant over. Hopefully the airplanes will be delivered on the (new) schedule and remedy this issue.

Yeah, I fugure as much. I find it interesting that when certain pilots exercise their contractual rights, it's "greedy" or "lining up at the trough", and for some reason they are supposed to give up those rights to satisfy someone's socialist agenda. At DAL we periodically go thru this same thing when guys pick up open time when it is perceived by some that it is "greedy", yet those same peoplenever squawk when junior pilots get assigned trips (at double pay). BTW, I am VERY junior in my category, and cannot pick up anything myself. If I wanted to get in that trough, I'd have to downbid and then I'd be one of the evil ones I guess... I guess one way to look at this is that as long as guys are picking up open time, I get to stay home
Oh well. I'll pop some corn and watch the show from herre on out...

US Airways
1Q 2010: 2 A330-200 and 2 A320
2011: 12 A320 "family"
2012: 12 A320 "family"
The A320 "family" deliveries in 2011 and 2012 could be either A319, A320 or A321 equipment. A319 deliveries being least likely, with the A320 and A321 being the most likely. Of course these are all replacement aircraft as of right now, as little to no growth in ASM is expected for 2010.

It was more than disheartening to sit on the sidelines because the company couldn't afford to pay me $30/hr to sit in the right seat of a 737... at the same time that the company happily paid scabtains $250/hr to fly in the right seat because they didn't have enough pilots.
Some of those right seat wonders had no choice, as they were junior Captains (capital C) on reserve. Others scabtains were those from '83 who happily took the bonus pay and pointed out that they were acting within their contractual rights.
Now, the manpower is a mute point, and future orders are irrelevant. The limiting factor seems to be how fast CAL can get Q-400s over at Colgan. Any aircraft orders at CAL must be offset by the fact that CAL still has 43 737-500s that they want to get rid of.

From: Boeing's Plastic Jet Button Pusher - 787
There were 4 of them on that purchase round. 1 showed up about 8-10 weeks ago (2009), and another showed up this year with the other 2 to follow in 2010.
That is correct, they are all former ATA ETOPS -300. Going through GUM some trips back, there were 2 "ATA"-300s sitting there waiting to be taken over to Hong Kong for their final make-overs. I am pretty sure when they convert them over from ATA's paint, they are also putting winglets on them as well.
Riddler......
Believe me, I'm blown away too. The fact the company sees it as a meanfuling 'cost saving' to furlough the most junior 147 (who are in first yr pay $30/hr pay, and have NO group insurance cost) just DOES NOT add up. The OT "monger's" make me SICK as well.....especially the right seat wonders who wear 4 strips.
March block line values are going up as summer approaches. Now that there is an 'actual' proposal on the table (weak or otherwise), my hope is that when voluntary JM comes a knocking this spring/summer.....pilots will tell Jeff he is "number 1" and see the light to hold firm.
Hang in there man.

Disclaimer: I'm one of CAL's 147.
