DAL is getting two 777's this spring.

One in April and One in May.

I beleive we are getting two 737-800's unless they find buyers for them as well.

Yep, except a net loss as we park DC-9-30s and replace with fewer DC-9-90s

Why in heck did you guys furlough with that many airplanes coming? Is management just playing "contract" games?

They furloughed because they can.

Across every base and aircraft (seat and type), too many guys continue to be hogs at the trough.

I dare anyone to dispute that fact. It's pathetic.

Yeah, I fugure as much. I find it interesting that when certain pilots exercise their contractual rights, it's "greedy" or "lining up at the trough", and for some reason they are supposed to give up those rights to satisfy someone's socialist agenda. At DAL we periodically go thru this same thing when guys pick up open time when it is perceived by some that it is "greedy", yet those same peoplenever squawk when junior pilots get assigned trips (at double pay). BTW, I am VERY junior in my category, and cannot pick up anything myself. If I wanted to get in that trough, I'd have to downbid and then I'd be one of the evil ones I guess... I guess one way to look at this is that as long as guys are picking up open time, I get to stay home Oh well. I'll pop some corn and watch the show from herre on out...
