Alright- I do agree with that! (And just had to vent a bit because I have come across some folks that look own on us support guys...)

I do agree that there is a need to screen EVERYBODY... not just foreign nationals... however I think that every one needs to have the opportunity for an unbiased evaluation of their risks.

I for one am willing to reserve judgement on this particular case until all is exposed and I have more facts.

As for the citizenship of this particular individual, I can't be 100% certain, but do believe that he is a naturalized citizen (that's confirmed by several of my former coworkers that I keep in touch with).

This is not a stab at anyone but it is amazing that everyone you talk to that has served miraculously all happened to be either in Force Recon or was a Navy Seal...It holds until I talk to them and start asking..ok, which force? Who was your CO? Did you serve with such and such a person? disclaimer - I am not in Force or a Seal team, it is just an example

Just serving is enough and very honorable. Of course the general public is more in awe by the Recon Marine than the Satelite operator, but both jobs are equally important and both should be proud.

I think it might be possible that the backround check turned up questionable thing, perhaps things this Mr. Faisil didn't even know he did. For example, JB's extensive background check may have turned up evidence that Faisil donated money (perhaps unwhittingly) to a Muslim charity known to funnel the money to terror operations. Or perhaps that he actively attended a Mosque where (perhaps out of his view) pro-terrorism stuff was preached/discussed/planned. Those are just what I think could be general examples of the kind of stuff that may have caused JB to rescind the offer. But as they say, it'll all come out in the wash.

Horse****. Ive asked, talked to, and am friends with people in HR of airlines past and present. They dont do anything at all different than anyone else.
They verify employment through letters to old airlines and in case they are out of business, they get it from w-2, and the FAA (check rides, etc,)
They also run your identity past the Feds through the fingerprints, but that only reveals convictions, not arrests, suspicions, bad rap, etc. What do you think? That they go around knocking on doors asking about you? NO.
Oh yeah btw, dont use "we're at war" to deny someone the freedom that we fighting for. We arent at war anyway, we're in a ill conceived police action. Because if fighting a war on terrorism is the excuse used for everything, then we will be at war FOREVER because someone will always be mad at us.

In fact, why dont we deny jobs to white, christian ex military men?
Isnt that what TIMOTHY McVEIGH AND TERRY NICHOLS WERE?

But I will reserve judgement on this case because I've met some guys who work at JB and many are not too sharp. It seems they hire a lot and hope they get one talented one out of the bunch (not referring to pilots).
They may actually be stupid enough to say that BS to this Arab pilot.
Our former boss was Iranian, MANY employees at my job are middle eastern, and all seem to have a desire for work and progress. Theyve never struck us as shady.

Some airlines go beyond the 10 year back round check...And if the airline finds questions or blanks in the time line period it is easier to just pass on the individual. I know US born white anglo guys who have been denied employment at airlines because of this same situation.

Default Black Balled

I'm tellin' ya, he was simply black balled. Someone at jetBlue just doesn't like him. That's it, end of story. It will come out in the courtroom and then he will find out who his enemy is-unless jetBlue can hide that.
