Well at least you admit it is a scare tactic. And no, we're all neanderthals too dumb to think about and comprehend the ramifications of a major action like leaving ALPA. Thanks God we have people like you to talk down to us.

DAL88,
Most do not understand the gravity of the ramifications, and do not understand the time needed to spool up any new organization. I would say at lest two decades to have ALPA's pull.

And I would say you have no idea what you're talking about. But that would be rude. So I'll just say, "that's very interesting, ACL."

You can, but as a former small business owner, I understand the complexities of trying to kick start an organization. In DC the real power players are not the elected officials, it is their support staff. They stay though each term. Waltzing in there and expecting to immediately have their bosses ear is naive.

It would take tens of millions of dollars a year, and a life cycle of these support staffers for a new group to have the ears the way ALPA does.

Our guys make phone calls and get appointments, with or without checks.

What kind of results do they get with their phone calls and appointments?

Wow. And meanwhile, our profession is in the toilet. Some results.

Sorry. I'd love to stay and chat but I'm missing watching the end of The Incredibles on TV with my son.

Good night, all.

Enjoy your movie and your son.

Look around us, it is not just ALPA carriers. Put the entire thing it to context. LUV has not been though a CH11 and that is their reason for their ride at the top lasting so long, but that music as stopped as well.

ACl,

So how have ALPA's "connections" worked with regard to:

1.) Age 60
2.) Crew Pass
3.) FT/DT regulations
4.) Regional pilot hiring minimums

My opinion on all of the above can be summed up by the phrase "Epic Failure".

1) Prater sided with 65 we all know that.

2) They are the reason for Known Crewmember period!

3) If they are ever published they are the sole reason for it

4) From what I gather instrumental. I have a 21 y/o I am mentoring that cannot get hired by AMR eagle because he will not meet ATP minima in Aug 2013. From what the Eagle VP stated there are no waivers and he is on the ARC so he should know. All of their applicants must be legal and have the ATP by Aug 2013 or they will not even put them in class. I would attribute to ALPA, which is what their VP said.
