All Things Southwest

I had a question and didn't know which of the multitude of SWA related threads to ask it in. So I made this one. I included a picture.

Now my question:
What is the deal with SWA 737s autothrottles? Have they been removed? If so, why and what happens to Airtran autothrottles?

they have not been using them for years, along with the new displays. recently they started using them, but only above 10,000 I think. they started RNAV/RNP training this past year so are in the process of upgrading their equipment capabilities as well.

For the past year SWA has being using autothrottles (-700 only) in all phases of flight, as well as RNAV. This Dec will finish the RNP training so that will start in Jan.

We use a 737 700 pretty much just like everyone else does. Autothrottles at all altitudes except for the last couple hundred feet on landing.
Our 300/500's do not have autothrottles.
All of our airplanes have been modified and are now "supermodel-ready".
