You go neo-con LOL!

Yes trillion dollar nation building wars, barfing money all over the world like a global Marshall plan fantasy (one of Bin Laden and Al Queda's stated goals), fake money pumping up asset bubbles left and right and the complete erosion of our civil liberties (one of Bin Laden and Al Queda's stated goals) and a massive ponzi scheme entitlement system and debt interest payments that couldn't be paid back even if we balanced the budget are all making us so safe and secure. LOL!

Love it! But to many power mongers a citizen who even knows he or she has such rights is a suspect, let alone one that has the unmitigated audacity to insist on it.

To hear the whiners, they are doing it for no reason. However, I 'm sure the screeners don't enjoy their new duties, nor would the TSA spend a lot of money on body-scanners when all Federal budgets are strapped.

I would think it is because they have credible intelligence that suggests or confirms that the terrorists are hiding explosives in the areas of their person that were previously 'off-limits.' I think it is also why the Feds are quiet or limited on explanations why this is necessary.

Or maybe it could be because the former head of the DHS compensation is directly related to the sale of these full body machines. He worked in the club and knows how to get things done.

How many of these bombing attempts were the result of failed security measures in the US?

But they are hiding stuff in places that are still off limits. The AIT cannot detect a substance in body cavities. The enhanced pat downs also do not check body cavities.

CenCal83406- You are welcome.

To those of you who jumped on this with the typical left versus right dogma that most of us are sick of hearing, I implore you to drop that crap and think about the country as a whole.

If you are even half way educated, you know enough to see what history has done to cultures who have gone down this path.

This is not about left vs right!

Atlas and Cencal have hit it right on. Just becuase there are lunatics out there who will do anything to hurt American citizens is not justification to destroy an entire industry. Oh, the 'law and order' crowd will tell that the 'nude o scope' and groping pat-downs are necessary for 'safety', but when the screeners themselves aren't screened, it's all just hyperbole and charades.

In addition, mission creep is so rampant, I don't think the TSA even knows what they're supposed to search for. They've made their 'administrative search' into a dragnet not related to items that can harm an aircraft. Baggie of weed, $10,001 in cash or? Yep, that's a problem. For some reason they divert attention from searching for HARMFUL objects and call LEO's for things like that, so their blog can justify the agency's existence with a big 'bust'. Somebody drop me a line next time that extra dollar over the limit, or that ounce of pot endangers the safety of flight.

I want the part of my tax money that went to this agency refunded.

I have always disagreed with Ron Paul (and now his son too!) However, I have to agree with him here. This is the first thing out of his mouth that has ever made sense.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I like how the MSM is busy reporting on Lindsay Lohan and the latest Royal to get married. Nothing to see here sheep, move along.
