Hopefully I can just get an interview!!!
I'm guessing it has to do w/ my availability date? So...can someone tell me how to best approach this...it's gonna sound confusing btw!
Details:
1. My mil commitment is up in June 12'
2. Overmanned year group (2000)
3. Overmanned MWS (C17)
4. They (AFPC & Palace Chase folks) said that I would be an easy approval for Palace Chase to the Reserves because of 1, 2 & 3 above.
5. They said a hire letter from the Reserves would pretty much seal the deal and make it painless. Just got one of these!
Problem:
1. Palace Chase requires ~90 days notice from submitting app to seperation....granted most are turning much quicker.
2. You are not supposed to accept/commit to civilian employment until PC paperwork is approved...just in case you get the "denied" stamp.
Question:
How do you put this on an app/resume? If I put 90 day notice, I may never get a call. Should I just put 90 days from now (Jan 12') and explain later if I get a call. But lets say in Jan, jB decides to call me/offer me a job, and I submit PC then, my availability would now have slipped to Apr (~90 days)
Catch 22: If I submit for PC today, I may not be released until Jan. I'll be on the street and available for immediate employment, but can't really feed a family with only 6 TR days/mos. So every day I wait just pushes the 90 day reqmt 1 more day further down the road.
BL...I need them to call me. The sooner they call, the sooner I can push send on the PC paperwork...and be ready ~90 (or less) days later
Suggestions? Thx.

Another update on projections for upcoming classes...
Class #21-11
Oct 19
7 E190 (all to BOS) (+1 Instructor)
5 A320 (3 to BOS, 2 to JFK) (+1 Instructor)
Class 21-11 started Oct. 19th. I'm not certain, but I believe that class is mostly people who interviewed August 25th.

Thanks for the fix Ezekial!
25-11 is listed as a December future planned class and is not officially on the radar...yet. The date listed for it is Dec. 7th, but it doesn't match up with the every other week pattern that classes have been following, so I'm not sure if it's an accurate start date or not.
As for the class size changes, those classes may have been planned that way all along. The schedule we see often shows the planned classes months out with rough numbers and then gets updated as the date gets closer, about a month out. The numbers above are in line with what most of the class sizes have been for this year, so it seems like more of the same for the forseeable future - 10 to 14 new hires every other week. As long as the economy cooperates, I think it's fair to say this will continue for all of next year (25 classes of 10 pilots = 250 planned for 2012). From what I hear, if rest rules change, expect these numbers to go up by a small percentage. Same if attrition picks up.
Anyways, hope the info helps. To all those sitting by a phone or constantly hitting the refresh button on your email, hang in there! It's worth the wait!

Extensive background check. All the normal stuff like PRIA, driving record, 10 year employment/residency check. Also says they'll be calling references and gathering info on job performance, etc. Honestly, I'm not sure what all they do, but it seems pretty in depth. After that, the hiring committee takes that together with the Phase 1 scores and makes decisions on who moves on from there. I DO know people that have made it to Phase 2 that were NOT offered class dates. As usual, phone call or e-mail good. Letter in the mail, bad. I'm not putting in my two weeks notice any time soon, but I'm hopeful that I'll be able to soon.
If anyone else has any other info to add, I'm all ears.
Zap, just keep plugging away. I'm sure you'll get a call soon to interview!
