I'll apologize in advance for my ignorance, but what are the different phases of hiring at JetBlue. I'm seeing you guys mentioning you're advancing on to phase 2 and was just wondering what that means exactly. I just recently applied(the short, week long open time) and know no one at JetBlue to use as a reference for these sorts of questions. Also, anyone have any idea what has been competitive in regards to getting an interview and thus a subsequent hire? My stats roughly: Instructor, 3000hr Total, 1300 PIC military airlift. Lastly, is the lack of internal recs at JB a deal breaker or not the end of the world? Thanks for any information in advance.

Phase 1= Interview
Phase 2= Background check (could take several months to complete and you could be offered a class date with it pending) Chances are if you aren't a D-Bag and haven't done anything crazy in the past you'll be fine.

Competitive at JB is anything from a basic ATP to someone with 10k hours...as long as you have an ATP (required now) you are, in their eyes...a potential applicant. Now, at their open house back in May they showed a PP slide that had 5000 Total...ATP....500 PIC Turbine. So take that for what it's worth.

I'd say if you don't know anyone at JB and don't have a blue dart (select few who can hand out to a buddy for a guaranteed interview) etc. etc. It will be very difficult to get an interview. Everyone in my class knew somebody. So make a friend quick . Good Luck!!!

C-130Driver,

I am currently in class and just went thru all the app and interview process starting back in April 2010. To add to what Captbimmer posted, the open house in May had competitive time on a power point which had 5000 for civilian but 2000 for military. If your TT is all military you will be competitive. I was military (Navy). Good luck.

Anyone fortunate enough to get an interview for either of the 2 days in January yet?

Thanks for the info guys. Yeah, prob 95% of my time is military. Little bit of time at Flight Options. Been furloughed for quite a while with them.

ATP (0 TPIC, upgraded then company downsized, did IOE & Fed ride & got downgraded)

i know there are more experienced folks out there, not sure why i got called over them but i'm gonna try to make the best of it. good luck to all.
