You should try to keep in mind that, before September 26th, inside the cockpit, the only difference between you and Air Tran pilots were the uniforms you were wearing. Now, in a year or so, your uniforms will be the same.

Dude, forget about the SLI. Try not to take things so personal, so you don't get to the point where you have to offend EVERYBODY.

If you don't have anything else to be jealous about, you should be envious of anyone who has people skills and a pleasant demeanor.

I think lurking is best for you.

Every airline pilot started at the bottom of the list! A lot of us have started at the bottom in more than one company. I also think EVERY airline pilot works hard for whatever they get paid. You chose your company, not your pay when you decide to accept that class date. Kind of like a marriage, for better or worse. Ask the pilots hired at a Legacy carrier (pre 9-11) how that pay thing is working out for them. Ask them about the lost retirements, big pay cuts, displacements, downgrades, furloughs, bankruptcies, and yes mergers they have had to endure. Did any of them sign up for that? There have been so many bad things that have happened in this industry in the last decade that you should celebrate the fact that for once, 2 good companies are merging and it should have tremendous benefits for everyone long term. Don't be bitter because the AirTran guy, who started at the bottom of his list and who works just as hard as you do, through no "fault" of his own, happens to get a big raise. Like I said before, YOUR great QOL and industry leading pay will not change. Count your blessings and don't begrudge your brothers (who until recently were the lowest paid major airline pilots) a raise. For years they worked extremely hard, for very low wages, during the toughest environment this industry has ever seen, and built a scrappy airline, one worthy to become part of the great Southwest!

If you are still upset about someone else's good fortune, just put yourself in their shoes, WWMD (what would Mulcher do) then?
