After having the night to sleep on it, I'm sad for the YX guys. I wish it had turned out different. I've met many of them and have been nothing but impressed. If you have time before starting class at wherever you end up, maybe allow RAH the privilege of paying to put you through class and sim in the 170.
As for everyone else, despite your real or perceived gains or losses, let's try to move forward and get a contract that we're all proud of.
Here's to hoping that we're still solvent in 7+ years!

Everything I post is extremely measured and thought out. It's just that, unlike many other posters leading up to this, I fully accepted what was coming down the pike. With that in mind and knowing that I had absolutely ZERO say in how this played out, all that is left is to have fun with the situation by devils advocating, inciting and attempting to provide one's point of view with some light hearted humor mixed in. Otherwise, I couldn't care less about these discussions. Discussion here is nothing more than that, simply discussion, with no effect on how our careers progress. I've said before that I'm just here for the entertainment.
Do me a favor if you would and PM me with the exceptions you took with my earlier post. I'd like to know since my congratulations to the RAHbros was sincere. Not a single one of you guys will I ever hold a grudge towards. Your union did what you pay them to do and, to our bewilderment, did an exceptional job based on the results. I did, however, find it interesting how Eischen presented the career progression argument and took the opportunity to put it out there.
Now to that measured thought process for my next post.

All I know is what the IMSL reads. The #2-5 MEA guys WERE hired on 4/23/84.
So, disregarding the anomaly of #1, the #2 MEA pilot was hired at MEA when the RAH pilot senior to him was 5 years, 9 months, 9 days old (DOB = 7/14/1978).

I can't believe it took a year and a half to come up with this.

What is the life lesson here?
answer: DO NOT LET ALPA NATIONAL REPRESENT YOU !!!!!
The Midwest (ALPA) scope language was a joke. It did not protect the YX pilots after they paid millions of dollars to ALPA National (over 10+ years) to represent and protect this pilot group interests.

Turned out like many thought. It is not unpredictable. Relative seniority is in vogue. Still say NMB STS is not a given. Very possible keeps F9 separate.

As you can see from the left I usually don't post often. I generally just troll here on occasion. I commend those from all the Airlines involved who have worked hard to finally bring this great big mess to a conclusion. I am an ex - YX'er who has moved on to brighter horizons with another Airline even though I am starting over again at what I consider an unreasonable age to do so. I started at Midex in 96 and at the time I had 10000+ hours in my log book and I was by no means the most experienced in the class. Over the years I added another 9000 hrs of DC-9 / MD-80 time with the vast majority of that as Captain. I spent a number of those years in the training department making sure or pilots were the best trained and safest in the industry. The end result of all that is a seniority number that puts me behind a Kid who has gone no farther in his/her career than a Dash F/O....Priceless!!. I wish every one well in this insanity that is called an Airline. I really do mean that sincerely.
