I'm a huge Frog fan but was wondering what a PCGB was and how can I get some of that. Do you mean PBGC ?

Delta is smart to try to furlough off the top (the more expensive employees) before furloughing off the bottom (the least expensive employees). Still, this is not a positive sign for staffing overall, despite the fact that upward movement might result.

If there is in-fact, a renewed interest, I believe that it may be in order to help the company plan the retirements. Allow pilots to accept a retirement "bonus" and give the company the ability to mandate a separation time period. Right now the company has no idea when someone might retire and that has the hiring dept nervous.

The 10 #'s per month is the current attrition without age 65. Once the age 65's start bailing than hang on!

Well, maybe. Hopefully it's not "hang on" to our jobs as the bottom half of the list is outsourced to regionals. I'm concerned about our narrowbody flying being consistently replaced, one "large RJ" at a time.

We have to fight it at some point, or this wave of hiring we are all counting on might not come to fruition.

As long as we are represented by ALPA, this wave of hiring we are all counting on will not come to fruition.

I believe the program is better than that...

My understanding is the Health Coverage Tax Credit pays 80% of health care premiums for those eligible. The requirements are you must be at least 55 years old and receiving benefits from the PBGC.

Bar;
We have a training issue in the heavy retirement years, and it serves DAL well to level that out.

Congress failed to renew the ARRA legislation, so there have been several changes to the HCTC program:

HCTC: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)
