Like I said above, 25% up front and 7% per year is a good start for me to consider voting Yes. Anything less is concessionary and an insult.
I'll preface this with an apology if this comes from a place of ignorance, but what's your position on the scope proposal? Obviously it's a joke, but what if there was no B scale? I guess put simply: what kind of scope language are you pushing for and what do you think management will actually agree to?

Again sorry if this seems like a stupid question.

This is a very bad omen today. I will walk the line with any AA group in support and even contribute to any fund to help support AA pilots while this is defeated. ALK would benefit and that is good for them short term but at the expense of too many variables in control of management that WILL come back to bite ALK pilot group in the end.

As an RJ driver, I'd rather see the B scale come back rather than the continuation of regional airline growth. Bring the jet back on property. As for the codeshare agreements, That's just more outsourcing and job loss.

The negotiations are getting interesting, APA is obviously at a point where they will have to decide to either keep a strong scope clause (the above proposal) with a minimal pay increase, or sell out scope (E175s at regional carriers) in exchange for a larger pay raise.

Why not just bring the jets to mainline and not have a B scale. Any support along these lines will only produce more RJ flying. As a former RJ guy I will not accept that. NOTHING GOOD at all going on here.... This b scale scam will do nothing to change QOL for any commercial pilot at any level. This needs to be fought....... time to take a stand.

Companies have manipulated the court systems and politicians to destroy this profession, and for what greater cause? I think it's time pilots do the American thing and walk, heck with the RLA.

So the pay raise from AMR is 4%, 3, 2 and 2 or 5, 4, 2 and 3?

What's inflation?

“As pilots look at the components of the proposal, there may be some who describe it as concessionary,” American said on its website. “The reality is that in virtually every area of the proposal, we have offered industry-leading terms.”

To help resolve differences, American offered two options on pivotal points such as compensation, productivity, pension and benefits.

Under one of American’s proposed pay plans, pilots would get a 4 percent average raise on the date the contract is signed, followed by a 3 percent boost after 15 months, and increases of 2 percent after 30 months and again after 45 months.

The second option offers a 5 percent average increase at signing, followed by a 4 percent jump after 12 months, a 2 percent increase after 24 months and 3 percent after 36 months.

Pilots had sought a 10 percent signing bonus, followed by 7 percent raises in each of the next three years.

Sign me up, maybe my ALPA dues could even be used for something to further the industry instead of my outstanding display of journalism I get every month. I'd vote for that.
